New Year, New You!

Mark you calendar now for Jan. 10th, 2009! This ladies only event is entitled, "New Year, New You: A Day with the Doc." Dr. William Cutrer, an obgyn & nationally recognized faculty member at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary will be our guest speaker. He will tackle subjects affecting women of all ages...from the young to young at heart. :)

Tickets are only $10, and includes a nice, hot lunch. Registration begins at 8:30, and the conference will start at 9 and end around 1:30 that afternoon. There will be a time of Q & A after lunch.

Women's Fall Bible Studies!

Okay, ladies. This is time to sign up for a bible study. With all the various times, etc., I'm hoping you can find one just right for you.

Yesterday (Aug. 6th), Sheryl Luken began, "Victoriously Frazzled" by Cindi Wood. Meets Wed. a.m.'s from 9:30 - 11:30 in rm. 217-218. Cost of the book is $10 and study lasts for 6 weeks. It's not too late to join...come on!

Beginning next Monday, Aug. 11th, Susan Byers will be leading "Can We Talk?", by Priscilla Shirer. This study is 6 weeks and will be held in Susan's home at 6:30 on Monday evenings. Call me, or the church, for details/directions.

Aug. 13th, your's truly, will be facilitating "Can We Talk?" on Wed. a.m.'s in the Media Center at church. 9:30 - 11:30. Cost of the book is $10 and I'll have them there on first day. Come!

(I will also be leading the exact same study on Wed. evenings as I am leading on Wed. a.m.'s. From 6 to 7:15 in the Media Center.)

Now, on Aug. 14th, Judy Merkley, will also be leading a group of women for "Can We Talk?" Rm. 217-218, from 9 until 11 a.m. every Thursday morning.

Huge Door Prize for Sunday's Event!!!!

Yes, you've heard it right here...on the hopping SVBC women's min. blog! ONE Living Proof Live (Beth Moore) ticket will be given away (did I say given away?) this coming Sunday evening at our "Chit, Chat, and Chocolate" women's event! This Beth Moore event has been sold out for months now. No worries about going alone either. I will be there, as will a fourth of our church women. You'll not sit alone unless you want to!! :)

If you have not signed up, do so asap w/Marlinda in the church office. Or, you may sign up on this blog. (After all, this blog is for you.)

We are SO excited about upcoming bible studies and opportunities at SVBC. And....stay posted because I will have HUGE (did I say HUGE?) news for you soon about a possible 2009 event. You will want to be apart of it and as soon as I can, I will announce it.

Chit, Chat, and Chocolate

Mark your calendar! July 27th, 6:30 p.m., at Severns Valley Baptist Church. Be there...or well...just be there. :)

Lori Looney Keene will be our speaker and an evening of fun and fellowship are on the agenda. We plan on having a good time. Coffee and chocolate are involved. Now, can you get much better than that? :)

Our women's min. is so looking forward to this kick-off fall-ish event. It just won't be the same if YOU aren't there. Make plans now. Come!

New Ladies Bible Studies!!

Beginning next Wednesday, April 30th will be a new opportunity for all women. From 9:30 to 11:30, we will do "Loving Well", by Beth Moore. This is a 4-week study and will end on May 21st. It will be offered in the evenings as well, from 6 to 7:15 p.m. More info to come on price of books, etc.

Another opportunity is on Thursday mornings....9 to 11. Judy Merkley is leading "Do you think I'm beautiful?", by Angela Thomas. This is an excellent study!

More details to come on the summer bible studies. Our own Mrs. Sheryl Luken will most likely be leading something wonderful!
